Spring 2025 Stitch-In

Can I sit with my friends?

Yes. There’s a section for listing the names of your friends who you would like to sit with on the registration page. There are 6 to a table. We will do our best to seat you all together.

Will my stitching lamp work? 

Yes. We will have electrical outlets for your lamp.

Can I bring my own food or drink? 

Yes. Please make sure that all food and beverage containers have lids to prevent spills.

Should I bring a gift for my table mates?

It’s not necessary. If you would like to bring a small token for your new friends, that’s fine. Just remember that stitch-ins aren’t about gifts… they’re for making new friends and memories. 

I don’t know anyone who will be attending. How will I know where to sit? 

We will have tables with have a “Join Us” sign. When the table is full, we will collect the sign. You’re free to sit anywhere that the “Join Us” sign is displayed.

What time is lunch?

Lunch will be served around noon. Snacks and drinks will be provided throughout the stitch-in.

What should I do if it snows?

 The stitch-in happens rain or shine!

Can I use the $10 Liberty Hill Needleworks Shop Coupon on anything or anytime in the store?

Yes

Do I have to attend the special VIP Shopping Spree at Liberty Hill after the stitching portion is over?

No. But we will have extra goodies for you there!

I’m expecting an important call during the stitch-in. Is that okay?

Yes. Feel free to excuse yourself to the lobby area to talk on your phone.

Can I take photos?

Yes. Just be sure to ask your table mates if they’re in the witness protection program first. Definitely tag #LibertyHillNeedleworks pretty please! 

Are pets allowed?

Due to potential allergens, only service animals are allowed to attend with you. 

Is Legacy Hall handicap accessible?

Yes. Handicap parking, restrooms and ramps for wheelchairs are available.

Is there a kitchen at Legacy Hall?

Yes. If you need to store medication or special food, a large refrigerator is provided.

What about restrooms?

 The restrooms are located directly outside the ballroom where the stitch-in is held. Plenty of stalls are available.

Is there a charge for parking at Legacy Hall?

 No. Parking is free and close to the building.

Is smoking allowed?

There is a smoking section located outside the building. Cigarette smoking, e-cigarettes or vaping is not allowed inside the building.

Will there be a share/donate/freebie table for needlework items that I no longer want or need?

Not this time. 

*Will there be a “Brag Table”?

 No. But if you have a show and tell finish that you would like to share with everyone, we will have a time for everyone to showcase their masterpieces!

Is there a wait list?

Yes.

I don’t live close by. Do you offer any discounts for hotel reservations?

Sorry, no. There are lots of hotels in Williamsburg and we are sure you will find a lovely place to stay.

Tips and Hints

We suggest that you wear comfortable clothes and shoes.

Don’t forget to pack your glasses, stitching supplies, medications, phone charger and please bring a sweater if you’re the type that feels chilly in public places.

The chairs at Legacy Hall have padded seats and backs but you may want to consider bringing a pillow for your back or derrière if you need extra cushioning.

Consider labeling your stitching supplies and personal items with your name to avoid confusion.

The shop is less than 2 miles from Legacy Hall. We suggest carpooling if possible to attend the after stitch-in shopping party. Parking in the store lot can be crowded at times.

Etiquette suggestions:

Please be aware that some people have allergies to perfume or other strong scents and spritz accordingly or not at all.

If you’re a smoker, please consider asking those around you if anyone is allergic to smoke.

Instead of cramming 8 stitchers to a table, there will be 6. Hopefully this will let everyone spread out a little bit please be considerate of your neighbor’s space.

Most importantly, this is the perfect time to make new friends, share stitching time with old friends and have a lot of fun! Remember that this is an opportunity to share our love of needlework and bond over a stitching tradition that has spanned countless generations.

Polite table chit chat avoiding politics and other hot button topics is encouraged. Let’s all have a wonderful time!

Cancellation Policy

 We are truly looking forward to having you join us at the stitch-in! However, we understand that life happens and schedules do change.

If you do need to cancel your stitch-in reservation here is our refund policy time line:

• Full Refund up to January 25
• Half Refund January 25-February 8
• No Refund February 8-February 22

If something happens and you are not able to join us, please let us know as soon as possible.
